Arnold Whitridge reviewed that one time the TMC had four abstentions on a vote and there was confusion as to how to proceed. Whitridge reviewed the bylaws and noted a contradiction. He pointed out that the bylaws required 6 votes, but the bylaws were silent on abstentions when there were less than 8 votes. He offered a fix to resolve this. Bill Brock noted no holes in Whitridge's suggested changes and that it seemed neutral to the voting structure. George Kautsky said he was inclined to oppose the motion based on the notion that if it isn't broken, don't fix it. He asked if there were any instances that the voting structure was unable to pass a motion. Whitridge said no. Bill Brock did note the contradiction in two sections of the bylaws (603 and 604). Roger Jaegel made a motion to approve the changes proposed by Whitridge. Dave Hillemeier seconded the motion.
